Art Student Billboards in Street Art Project across London and the UK

Big Creative Academy (BCA) students get the opportunity to showcase their work across London and the UK, in one of the biggest creative art projects on the street. Collaborating with the team at BuildHollywood, students have taken over billboards in the project Your Space or Mine.

Our Level 3 Art & Design students were set a brief by the BuildHolllywood team to create a piece of work with a message. They created a range of visually exciting and engaging responses to personal, social and emotional ideas acknowledging their individual experiences, with themes such as mental health, racism, eco-fascism as well as personal messages about self belief.

A panel from BuildHollywood selected ten artworks for the billboard opposite Blackhorse Road tube station, near to the BCA Clifton Avenue campus. The team were so impressed by the standard of work, they plan to present 10 pieces of artworks over the Christmas period.

The Managing Director of BuildHollywood, Emma Clackson, said that she was “impressed by the quality of students’ work, the themes they spoke so clearly about, the students’ ability to present their ideas, their engagement and pride”.

Students are excited to see their work up in public. One student said, “thousands of people are going to pass by my piece and I hope they like what I’m saying.”

Art & Design tutor Joe Frazer is thrilled with his students’ responses to the brief. “I am passionate about inspiring young artists to explore their artistic voice and to help them find new ways to exhibit their art in an ever-changing art world.”

Big Creative Academy is grateful to the team at BuildHollywood for their time and generosity in working with our students to give them an opportunity to build their careers.
