The residency offers students the opportunity to have day-to-day interactions with employers, who can exchange ideas and information with one another and add rich dialogue to their education.
Start or progress your Business
We hope young entrepreneurs will utilise this programme, as it offers a space for you to start and progress your businesses, and in turn students are exposed to positive role models and industry professionals.
A majority of students at Big Creative Academy are from disadvantaged or Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) communities, and so their involvement in the programme offers them inspiration for what is possible and highlights the potential they have.
Expression of Interest
We are seeking expressions of interest from individuals and businesses in fashion, from design and manufacturing, through styling and communication who may want a studio space. You must be willing to work with our young people who are aged 16-19.
For example, you must understand the barriers students and young people are trying to overcome, be proactive in providing industry briefs for students, and work experience opportunities – all while adhering to safeguarding requirements and college policies.
From September 2024
We are offering the new T level in Fashion which includes core business competencies.
Whilst we can teach the theory, students will learn better from real life examples and we would expect our resident employer to share their experience with learners. There is also a three week industry project learners must complete as part of their course and there is an expectation that our resident employer can deliver this.
