Huge congratulations to our graduating Big Creative Academy students! We’re really proud of you all and we know your creativity and talent will give you a good foundation in your careers. You’ve all worked hard and deserve your success.
Huge thanks as well to the teaching and support staff who have helped our students realise their ambitions and get to where they want to be. We’re very proud of the distance our learners travel, from 5 GCSEs to distinctions and entry to prestigious universities and conservatoires, not to mention the apprenticeships and freelance work.
32% of Big Creative Academy students achieved distinctions for their vocational qualifications, which exemplifies the impact in social mobility for individuals and families.
Lots of students are already well on the way with their careers and we’re really pleased to celebrate their success.
Learners study Level 3 qualifications from University of the Arts, London (UAL) and many are following the route through to UAL colleges for their undergraduate study. Congratulations to our fashion students who are going to study at Central St Martins, and to those going to UAL colleges to continue their education. This is testament to our collaboration with the UAL Insights team do in providing courses and support for young people so a huge thank you to them.
Rachel is going to Trinity Laban School of Music and Dance, which is a music conservatoire. She will be studying Popular Music. Conservatoires are prestigious higher education institutions and very competitive. They focus on practical skills to springboard young people into the industry.
Talking of industry… Congratulations to Shakhan, aka Lil Shakz, who got Track of the Week with BBC Introducing over the summer. Also, a massive well done to our West End star, Rue, who is currently appearing in the production Trials at the Donmar Warehouse.
Some of our students are going onto apprenticeships, and congratulations to Hamza who will be doing an apprenticeship in media advertising and Vinit who is working as an AV Technician with Event Concepts. Many entrepreneurial students already have their own businesses or work freelance. We have producers, designers, artists, musician who are making a living from their creative talents.
Anyone still looking for work should follow the socials for our on site job centre, Cafe Works. We post current opportunities in the creative arts on our instagram @cafeworks.bce.
We say goodbye to our graduating students with all the best wishes in the world. You’ll always be part of the Big Creative family, and keep in touch!
