Big Creative Education (BCE) students stepped into the fast-paced world of high fashion this season, completing an exciting work experience placement at EMERGE during London Fashion Week (LFW) 2026.
A Front-Row Experience with EMERGE
EMERGE is an event organised by Louvre Members, a network providing an alternative launchpad connecting emerging talent with opportunities, professional advice, and visibility.
Emerge is a seasonal fashion and networking event created to spotlight new talent, foster collaboration, and provide real industry exposure. Bringing together designers, models, creatives, and fashion enthusiasts, the event blends runway showcases with an energetic, community-led atmosphere.
Curated by Louvre Members, along with Artsect and Cold Magazine. This two day event is set within the creative heart of Shoreditch, offering guests an immersive experience where fashion, art, and culture intersect.
During LFW26, EMERGE HQ was buzzing with activity—from high-energy brand photoshoots to pop-up events and runway preparations. Students on placement had the opportunity to witness and support these behind-the-scenes operations, contributing to tasks such as:
- Assisting with photoshoot logistics
- Supporting pop-up event teams
- Helping prepare attendee lists and press materials
- Observing model fittings and production meetings
- Capturing behind-the-scenes content alongside EMERGE’s media team
Learning from One of Fashion’s Biggest Global Events
There’s something about London Fashion Week that makes you feel like you’ve made it. It remains one of the world’s most influential fashion showcases, featuring both established designers and rising talent. https://www.fashionretailacademy.ac.uk/news/how-to-volunteer-at-london-fashion-week
For our fashion students, this placement provided invaluable, real-world experience that goes far beyond the classroom. Volunteering or interning at London Fashion Week is widely recognised as a powerful way to build professional networks, strengthen portfolios, and gain behind-the-scenes insight into the fashion sector.
One of our students said: “My work experience was really eye‑opening and inspiring. I was able to develop new skills, understand how the industry works, and build my confidence in a real working environment. I learned how to communicate better, work as part of a team, and manage my time more effectively. Overall, the experience motivated me even more to pursue my goals, and I left feeling inspired and excited about my future career.”
BCE is very grateful to Lauren and Devante from Louvre Members for reaching out to us and providing this opportunity for our learners. This is what they said about them:
“EMERGE 2026 was a huge success! I have to give a special shoutout to the incredible volunteers from Big Creative Education.
Across two full days of panels, screenings, runway shows, and guest experiences, these students showed up with professionalism, energy, and a genuine willingness to help wherever they were needed. From setup and guest support to backstage coordination and last-minute problem-solving, they handled every task with maturity and enthusiasm.
Events of this scale rely on people who care, and they truly elevated the experience for our team, our speakers, and our attendees.
A massive thank you to the BCE staff for preparing such engaged, capable young creatives. It was a privilege to work with them, and I hope this is the start of many more collaborations.
Here’s to creating opportunities, building confidence, and supporting the next generation of talent.”
Thanks so much for the kind words and we look forward to working with Louvre Members again too.
Congratulations to our learners for representing yourselves and BCE magnificently.
