Big Creative Education celebrates student talent at annual showcase in Walthamstow

Last night we welcomed families, friends, staff and industry guests into our 200‑seat theatre at Big Creative Academy for one of our favourite moments of the year, the Big Creative Education Annual Showcase. It was an evening full of energy, pride and outstanding creativity, as students from across our courses took to the stage to share the work they’ve developed over the past academic year.
The showcase brought together an exciting mix of current students and alumni, each presenting original work or reimagined pieces that demonstrated their skill, confidence and individuality.

Some of the evening’s highlights included:

  • A powerful dance performance by alumnus Bracken Stow
  • A vibrant music set from Chauffeur (Lexie Greenburg, Harry Haley, Honor Mitchell, Sophie Carpenter and Andreas Georgiades)
  • An excerpt from Coram Boy, performed by Raffi Erics and Christopher Mukendi
  • Original spoken word and music from Lyan Gama, Harlem Wallace, Giselle Jonathan and Francis Vunda
  • A beautifully crafted film piece, Sounds of Existence, directed by Shiloh Evans
  • A closing music set from The Seagulls (Aaron Yianni, Lilly Yadrychnikova, Svjatoslav Badrins, Abbie Sharp and George Brydon)

The evening also included congratulations from Big Creative Academy Principal Sacha Corcoran MBE, she said on the night, “Every year I’m blown away by the creativity and talent of our young people… Some will get jobs tonight.”

Our alumni panel added another special moment to the evening, offering honest insights into their journeys since leaving BCE from first industry roles to building creative careers on their own terms.

At BCE, we exist to open doors into the creative industries, especially for young people who haven’t always had access to those opportunities. Last night’s showcase was a living example of that mission in action. Our students brought their ideas, identities and hard work to the stage, creating performances that felt personal, bold and completely their own. And our industry guests saw exactly why employers come to BCE when they’re looking for fresh, diverse talent.

Thank You

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us, from families cheering in the audience to staff supporting backstage, and to the industry partners who continue to champion our learners.
Most of all, thank you to our students. Your creativity, courage and hard work made last night unforgettable.
We can’t wait to see what you do next.
