Two steps take you from the essentials of production to a specialism developed with employers around real production environments.

Step One

Core Film & Broadcast

Everything begins here. The Core Film & Broadcast programme provides the essential knowledge and practical production skills needed across the screen industries before progressing into your chosen specialist pathway.

Across 13 intensive training days you'll explore every stage of the production process, from planning and pre-production through to filming, editing and delivery. Working on employer-inspired productions, you'll build a professional portfolio while developing the confidence, teamwork and technical skills needed for a career in film, television and digital media.

Step Two

Choose your specialism

After completing the Core programme, you'll choose one specialist pathway to develop your technical expertise and prepare for specific roles within the creative industries. Each specialist has been developed with employers to reflect real production environments and current industry demand.

Production Trainee

Take your first step onto professional productions.

Develop the practical skills and professional behaviours employers expect from entry-level crew members working across film, television and commercial productions. You'll gain experience in production planning, working on set, production paperwork, location management and supporting busy production teams while learning how professional productions operate from start to finish.

Specialist · Post

Post Production

Bring stories to life in the edit.

Develop the technical and creative skills used in professional post-production, learning how editors transform raw footage into engaging content for film, television and digital platforms. Working with industry-standard software, you'll build a professional showreel while developing skills in editing, audio, colour correction and post-production workflows.

Beatrix founded Mindea, one of Hungary’s leading social media agencies, before moving to London. At Big Creative Education she runs the digital marketing training programme, tutors Multi-Channel Marketer apprentices and teaches practical, jargon-free skills grounded in live campaigns. She also trains corporate teams to use AI in their day-to-day work.

Mikis Michaelides

25 years in industry 17 years teaching

A film and television composer with 25 years in the creative industries, Mikis has also worked across advertising and music. He has spent 17 years teaching apprenticeships in digital media production and visual effects, using hands-on projects to help learners explore the creative and digital world.

Content & visual effects

Owen Davis

10+ years in industry Content, video & podcasts

Owen is a content creator and visual effects artist whose work spans short films, documentaries and YouTube. He currently produces social media videos and podcasts for City of London institutions, universities and charities, while teaching on London Talent Pathway and coaching BCE apprentices.

Trevor Johnson

15+ years in industry BBC, Sony Music & more

Trevor has worked for more than 15 years as a creative director, videographer and graphic designer. His credits include BBC, Sony Music, Capital FM and Universal Music. Alongside industry work, he teaches film, photography and design, helping learners build the creative and technical skills needed to progress.
