About The Company 

    Ben Karter Music is a management company representing artists including Declan J Donovan (Sony and Universal Publishing), Tim Gallagher (Sony), Jole (Nettwerk) and also an independent record label with a number of signings such as Here at Last and South Arcade.

    We have also recently signed a deal to create a pop band for a TV show with one of the biggest international record labels and TV production companies.

    About the Role

    The company has been going for 7 years, and needs an apprentice who can come in and work across absolutely everything! The work will be very varied, very hands on and although it will be a baptism of fire to the music industry, the experience you will gain will be absolutely incredible across all areas. You will be exposed to pretty much every area of the music industry as part of the apprenticeship.

    This is not a job for people who want to be in a band or a musician and want to use the role as a way into this. I am only interested in candidates who want to work in the business side of the music industry.

    The Director of the company is also a shareholder in a Digital Marketing agency (in music) and Radio promotions company, so there might be a few admin task based around these companies from time to time.

    Skills and responsibilities: 

    • General admin and support in managing and screening all forms of communication (email, phone, WhatsApp)
    • Manage artist diaries and book sessions with world class producers and song writers.
    • Help look for new artists to sign on-line
    • Help artists with their social media and chase artists to stay on top of their plans
    • Attend meetings and help take notes and action follow up points
    • Help with invoices
    • Help manage artists travel plans
    • Liaise with major labels on release plans
    • General admin tasks
    • Help research ideas to help market artists or create new business opportunities
    • Help organise meetings
    • May be required to travel with artists from time to time for filming, promo and live gigs

    Personal Qualities:

    • You must be hard working and very well organised.

    Training to be Provided:

    • In-house mentoring
    • Level 3 Music Assistant

    Things to consider:

    The apprenticeship programme and employment are inclusive of each other. You will need to demonstrate excellent levels of commitment to both the training and job role. You will work at BKM Artists 80% of the time, and study in further education 20% of the time.

    Qualifications Required:

    Five GCSEs at Grades A*-C or 9 – 4 (including English & Maths), Functional Skills Level 2 in English and Maths, or a relevant Level 2 Apprenticeship.
