Stormzy and 'Adidas Originals' visit BCE

‘Adidas Originals’ Team Up With Big Creative Education!

On the 29th November 2018, Big Creative Education teamed up with ‘Adidas Originals’ to celebrate London’s contribution to music culture. Students at BCE were treated with a surprise appearance from the ‘award winning’, artist ‘Stormzy’ and the multi-talented ‘Mo Gilligan’ also known as ‘Mo The Comedian’.

Big Creative was the first stop off to four colleges, in which Stormzy and Mo The Comedian made around London. The purpose of the tour was to educate and inspire young people to stay in education whilst not giving up on their talents.

They spoke about their own personal experiences along with complications that arose when trying to break into the music industry. Stormzy mentioned that it will feel like a very ‘gruelling journey’ to get to where you would like to be but you must believe in yourself and ‘trust that you will get there’.

Mo The Comedian performed a skit in which he stressed the importance of time keeping and how time management impacts all aspects of your life. He rounded up the talk with famous lines from his ‘Couple Cans Tour’, which gave the teachers and students a great laugh and fantastic end to the morning. Students at BCE took part in a Q&A and asked about how to best break into the industry whilst maintaining a focus on education. They both agreed that a healthy balance is key and stressed that education must remain a focal point.

With a great start to the morning, 67 students from BCE were also taken on an evening trip to a secret location in Hammersmith, organised by ‘Adidas Originals’. The evening was jam packed with music, such as performances from Stormzy, The Singing Soul Sirens and a live orchestra. Students at BCE danced the night away, with one student mentioning that ‘the whole day was electrifying’.

BCE would like to thank ‘Adidas Originals’ for an amazing opportunity. Students were ecstatic to meet both Stormzy and Mo The Comedian gaining much needed inspiration to pursue their talents within the industry, whilst focusing on their educational studies.
