Fusion Magazine

Twenty years ago, Big Creative Training created Fusion Magazine, now reborn into a digital format, we are back online. In this student lead, online magazine we connect young creatives to industry. Our content can be anything, from music videos, interviews, photography, podcast’s, and articles. If it’s media related, we appreciate it.

What Is Fusion Magazine?

“YOUR vision is OUR platform” – FUSION

Episode 1

During our first episode we invited students and industry to celebrate the re-launch of the twenty year-old Fusion Magazine. To kick this off, we linked up with the Artist Development program and featured the following BCT artists in a in-house cypher. The project aims at guiding these artists through all various stages of breaking into the music industry, starting with support in composition and mixing, before looking at planning artist related media, marketing projects and building a network of professional contacts.

Episode 2 - the Cold Carnival

In our second Episode, the Cold Carnival. And wow, what a special night… On Monday 6th December, BCT gave 18 level 2 and 3 music performers the opportunity to play at one of the top Sound system culture venues in London, The Brixton Hootananny, Brixton.  Dubbed the ‘Cold Carnival’, this event was the first of its kind at BCT, giving our students a chance to perform on a professional stage, lighting rig and sound system, out of their comfort zone, on an away day in Brixton. Supported by the events team and filmed by Fusion, the night was a huge success in a packed-out venue. Stay tuned for the next one!

Episode 3

In our third episode, our team linked up once again with the Artist Development crew to ensure their showcase was captured and filmed. Head over to the Artist Development Page to explore some of the photos from the event.

Team Fusion is back again to bring you coverage if BCEs finest extra-curricular activities. In this episode we’re featuring the new after movie for The in-famous Cold Carnival 2022. Additionally, coverage of our Artist-Developments Christmas ‘Live Lounge’ event as well as their ‘Love is Love’ spoken word event hosted at The Big Penny Social in Blackhorse Road. Finally, we are excited to share with you Team Fusions collaborative project with UK Fully Focused. In this short piece we discuss relationships – the good, the bad and the ugly.

The Cold Carnival

The Cold Carnival 2022 returned to Hootenanny’s, Brixton, for a night of performances from our music students. With our team covering it, this was an event to remember. From rap to rock, genres a plenty were performed and witnessed at this iconic London music venue. Once again, Yasmin was on presenting duties, talking to the artists and leading us into the night. Check out the after-movie, edited by Reece (L2 Creative Media Student). What a night!

Completed & Upcoming Projects

The Creative Work Space Promotional Film

Our Fusion team headed over to Creative Work Spaces on Black Horse Road to provide them with a professional promotional film. Teaching our students how to create product videos to this standard is so important, especially if they want to become freelance film-makers.

BBC Studio Works

Now making some serious movements in the world of film, heavyweights BBC Studio Works hit us up to come and film a promotional piece for their recruitment channels. They wanted to showcase their Broadcast Engineer roles and how it is accessible as a career to young people. The video is coming soon. Please watch this space.Â
