49Ft Brewery – Marketing Communications & Events Apprentice

About the Role

We’re excited to offer an opportunity for a creative, proactive and hands-on individual to join our growing brewery team. This is a unique chance to build experience across marketing, social media, sales and events while making a real impact in a fast-growing business.

You’ll help grow our brand, support a network of 150+ hospitality venues, create engaging content and bring events to life. No two days are the same, making this an ideal role for someone who enjoys variety, takes initiative and loves turning ideas into action.

Key Responsibilities

Pillar 1: Marketing & Brand Growth

  • Support account management across 150+ venue partners.
  • Assist with venue activations, sampling events and brand experiences.
  • Process customer orders and support sales administration.
  • Identify and engage prospective customers, including restaurants, bars and hospitality venues.
  • Work with the sales and marketing teams to drive brand awareness and growth.

Pillar 2: Social Media & Content

  • Support the Managing Director in planning and delivering social media content.

Create content focused on:

  • Our venue partners.
  • Behind-the-scenes brewing.
  • Taproom events and community.
  • Help develop campaigns and manage paid advertising across Meta and Google.
  • Promote events and experiences across our two taproom venues.

Pillar 3: Events & Community

  • Work with venue managers to develop and promote events.
  • Support communications through Instagram (18,000+ followers) and our growing email newsletter (2,000+ subscribers).
  • Help coordinate and deliver events on-site.
  • Contribute ideas that strengthen community engagement and audience growth.
Training to be provided

  • In-house mentoring
  • Lv.3 Multichannel Marketer

  • Enthusiastic about hospitality, events and brand-building
  • Positive, adaptable and willing to get stuck in wherever needed

Skills Required

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Confident creating content across social media platforms.
  • Organised and able to proactively coordinate multiple projects and events.
  • Commercially aware, with an understanding of how marketing activity can drive sales.
  • Able to build positive relationships with customers, venue partners and colleagues.

Qualifications Required

You’ll need a good level of English and a strong foundation in graphic design and content creation with a passion for events. Formal qualifications like GCSEs are helpful but not essential.

Things to Consider

The apprenticeship programme and your employment are fully integrated. You will be expected to show strong commitment to both your job role and your training. While the majority of your time will be spent working at 40Ft Brewery, a dedicated part of your contracted hours will be set aside for training towards your accreditation.

About us

40ft is an independent brewery producing fresh modern, beer on the Blackhorse Beer Mile, Walthamstow.

Born in a Dalston carpark in 2015 with just two 20ft shipping containers, we have grown one shipping container at a time.

  • English & maths GCSE or equivalent grade above C/4
