I hope this letter finds you well, I appreciate this has been a very difficult time for many people and their families and I wanted thank you all for your support and cooperation as the Academy has had to move between online and in class delivery.
We were pleased the government has allowed schools and college to remain open as we believe that access to education is incredibly important at this time for young people. We want the academy to provide time for young people to see their friends, space to be creative and also time where they can discuss their worries and have access to a range of support.
I am pleased to announce that when the students return on Tuesday 5th January they will be in the new building, a fantastic space, with state of the art facilities and resources that will support us to provide an outstanding education offer. The new timetables with rooms will be uploaded to the FROG intranet for students from the 4th December.
In order to facilitate the move to the new building the current site will close to students from Friday 4th December, online lessons will continue on the 7th and 8th of December when the term ends.
Please note sports students only will be on site on the 7th and 8th of December as they have exams.
Staff will be busy packing up from the 9th December and setting up the new academy to be ready for students return on the 5th January.
On returning in January we will expect all students and staff to continue using the hand sanitiser whenever they come on site, masks are mandatory in all communal areas and can be worn in classes if a student wishes to. We are very proud of how the students have adapted to these changes and they are working incredibly hard despite the difficult circumstances.
With some many exciting opportunities for our students planned in the new year can I please ask that you support us to encourage students to attend classes. Reassure them that we are working closely with the Department for Education and other regulatory bodies to ensure the academy remains a safe space to study, so we can continue to provide an outstanding creative education to them all.
Please do not hesitate to contact any of the tutors or support teams if you have any worries or concerns. I and all the staff thank you all for your continued support over the coming weeks.
